Saint Aardvark A beautiful combination of acoustic and electronic, thoughtful and emotional, heartache and hope.

Whatever you thought you were doing, you need to stop and buy this album. Favorite track: Bad Luck.

Caleb Bratcher I usually prefer the vocals to be nothing more than an instrument in a song, but Wiped Out is definitely an exception. Maurycy Zimmermann's amazing voice takes the forefront and brings the album to a new level, with smooth melodies and the occasional lo-fi drumbeat that brings it all together. Favorite track: Who Are You Know.

it was magic it's true you would never doubt the word i say pinch of drugs and alcohol  would bring us from the depths we've learned to fear friends and strangers would go home sun would start the day taking pictures with the wall go outside to see the dawn we were ready
2.
You Will Go 03:33
you will go far away anywhere anyway is better then this place you will find no one there no one who would want to look in your eyes a sled dog teem will take you there will make you swear you'd never go back again through whiteout and drought land you will fly on phoenix wings forget your sins forget the neckless made of string the ship has sailed your mother calls your name weeping for her child to come back home you don't know what to say you've never been good with words she's gone the flowers left
3.
One Day 03:48
maybe one day you're gonna be saved by all the little things that make you cry sweet imperfections undeniable flaws troubles you went through  all loves you've lost maybe one day you're gonna be saved by all the little things that made you cry maybe in gloom you're gonna be doomed by all the little things that make you laugh
4.
you could why would i same all the time yours and mine save yourself too much to embrace start while you can understand i'm too week to flee you the chance i see please open the door when my eyes are closed
5.
Bad Luck 03:30
i pass tense people on the streets  you can see it from your steeple marbles crawling from under your eyelids mean nothing here still rather suck up what's ours then let trickle down your own you live in the eye of the cyclone we see stars above our heads through golden bars i pass tense people on the streets crippled with triple so called bad luck you know we all think that working in these mines serves us well i still hope that clouds don't blot out all the beautiful sights from up there you live in the eye of the cyclone we see stars above our heads through golden bars
6.
Wiped Out 03:45
stairs again stairs up and down sweat wet t-shirt i won't be around tomorrow i can't stand her perfect crime in my mind blizzard it was the longest eighteen months sanity was so close only for this season one hopes another won't if only it was happening for something good i hope you know open close door to door vanity in poor clothes hidden for a reason wiped out in one night  my life has been a total mystery for me since then it was the longest twenty years profanity at last i can testify my sins as a young prince i wish i could have taken all the blame on me i wish you knew open close door to door vanity in poor clothes hidden for a reason wiped out in one night  my life has been a total mystery for me since then

emblems and images you keep drawing but here you are being part of a tribe and your contour just kind of faded out you had dreams and aspirations to become mad the show was cancelled but they still offered you the part and you said yes you just know when certain opportunities arrive and you see the way behind the smugs constructing and deconstructing yourself again and everyone has perfectly structured stories to tell about who they are you just know when certain opportunities arrive at your door
8.
Mare 03:14
you told me that you miss her we were alone in the park you couldn't stand her  in a small flat  yelling and moaning  always wrong and not enough and now she wouldn't whisper no matter how loud you cry out codependency demanding at what time you are finally going to go back home you feel like you have missed her only the phantom is left look at it mother morbid picture like two paths that seem to cross and then they don't
9.
who are you now which role you've picked for today so that you can think you are someone else don't run don't hide look straight ahead no one will force you to look down again even with your eyes shut you always know what it's all about even when you sleep deep down you feel shut down from your own show even with no words you describe it all effortless even when caressed you're not impressed with someone's best move or jest much better now it seems like your'e right for the part now you can rise your hands in just case don't run don't hide look straight ahead no one will force you to calm down again
10.
allies of inconceivable adversaries of hope pulling me down putting their arms around me i keep on stumbling on others there are plenty of us they are haunting for their bounty for life i wish i could just forget it all but they are too strong pulling me down
11.
i can't recall i was so drunk i can't remember anything

about

This is a true pleasure: The new, the third album by Maurycy Zimmermann aka Mooryc is finally here and it is much more poppy than its predecessors, in places almost folky-dreamy, but one thing especially: delightfully and downright personal.

“Wiped Out” fits Sonar Kollektiv's repertoire just perfectly and will probably be one of the most respected releases of the Berlin based label this year.

When the Pole's first two LPs were mainly electronic affairs and targeted straight at the dance floor, then we have to prepare ourselves now for a cozy listening deeply moving our souls. The blessed and academic trained musician cut eleven genuine, timeless pop jewels for “Wiped Out”.

“You Will Go” is a sugar-sweet ode to goodbye recited in a delicate manner like a wisp of wind. Only on a few tracks („One Day“ oder „Bad Luck“) a beat plays a part at all. In this case all the more sophisticated and smarty-pants, so you notice even after all that Mooryc has also released records on the state of the art Jena based techno and house label Freude am Tanzen.

Most of the time it's simply a guitar and the thirtysomething's wonderously magic voice though, which make these songs shine so bright. The title track is one of the many fine examples why this album should be always within easy reach during the imminent winter time. Songs like „Inconceivable“ or „Who Are You Now“ air this decent warmth and this tremendous comfort which are more than welcome in these days now when the nights get longer again than the days.
